    Melinda Newman & Allison Davis



    Allison Davis Bio

    Allison Davis is focused on providing practical advice and creative solutions to employers facing challenging workplace issues. Allison represents clients in a wide range of employment matters, including discrimination, harassment, non-competition, wage and hour, leaves of absence and accommodation issues. She is experienced in conducting internal investigations and handling audits and investigations by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, and Texas Workforce Commission. She routinely advises employers on proper hiring, disciplinary and termination practices and drafts complex employment agreements and various employment policies.

    Allison works closely with employers, helping them mitigate risk and prevent needless litigation. When litigation is unavoidable, Allison is a zealous advocate, representing clients in all stages of proceedings before various state and federal courts.  Allison also regularly advises on employee matters in transactions, including due diligence, executive employment agreements, and post-closing integration.   Allison is serving her second term of the Texas Board of Legal Specialization – Labor and Employment Law Advisory Commission. When not practicing law, Allison enjoys gardening, cooking, and spending time with her husband, Nate, and two sons. 

     

    Melinda Newman Bio

    Melinda Newman has nearly twenty years of experience crafting pragmatic solutions to clients’ legal problems. She advises employers on a wide range of workplace issues, including employee leaves of absence, reasonable and religious accommodation requests, internal investigations, discrimination complaints, and disciplinary and termination practices. Melinda also drafts employment agreements and policies for clients in a variety of different industries. 

    As a former federal government attorney, Melinda has significant experience representing managers in administrative matters before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Merit Systems Protection Board and arbitration matters before the Federal Labor Relations Authority. Melinda now draws on that experience to help employers reduce risk and guide clients through administrative proceedings and litigation matters.  Outside of the office, Melinda enjoys traveling, attending fitness classes, and spending time outdoors with her husband, children, and two dogs.

    Dr. Tony A. Bridwell

    Please join us for our Special Program on September 3, 2026 at the Lubbock Civic Center. Dr. Tony Bridwell will lead us through a program that takes you Beyond the Leader. 

    Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. and the program begins at 8:30.

    Speaker Bio:  

    Dr. Tony Bridwell is an organizational behaviorist with 25-plus years of experience working with global organizations related to employee experience and culture. As Chief Talent Officer for The Encompass Group, a people optimization company, he leads the Firm’s organizational consulting practice and serves as Practice Leader of the E3 Leadership Academy. Most recently, Dr. Bridwell led the award-winning People Group function of the global tax and technology firm Ryan, LLC as their Chief People Officer. Before his role at Ryan, he was the Chief People Officer for Brinker International and a Senior Partner with the global culture consultancy Culture Partners. Tony is an accomplished author of seven books, an international speaker, having presented in 44 countries, and a sought-after consultant and advisor specializing in purpose and culture. Dr. Bridwell was selected as the 2015 HR Executive of the Year by Dallas HR (the local SHRM affiliate), won the 2015 Strategic Leadership Award from Strategic Excellence HR, and was most recently recognized as a 2022 top 50 HR Professional by OnCon Icon Awards.

    Dr. Bridwell's academic journey is as diverse as his professional one. Studies in architecture, theology, and business culminated in a Bachelor of Science in Business and HR, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, and a Doctorate in Organizational Intelligence and Leadership. His commitment to education extends to his role as an adjunct professor at SMU in Dallas, where he teaches MBA students Executive Leadership. Beyond academia, he is deeply involved in various organizations, including the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the board of directors for Southwest Transplant Alliance.
