Allison Davis Bio
Allison Davis is focused on providing practical advice and creative solutions to employers facing challenging workplace issues. Allison represents clients in a wide range of employment matters, including discrimination, harassment, non-competition, wage and hour, leaves of absence and accommodation issues. She is experienced in conducting internal investigations and handling audits and investigations by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, and Texas Workforce Commission. She routinely advises employers on proper hiring, disciplinary and termination practices and drafts complex employment agreements and various employment policies.
Allison works closely with employers, helping them mitigate risk and prevent needless litigation. When litigation is unavoidable, Allison is a zealous advocate, representing clients in all stages of proceedings before various state and federal courts. Allison also regularly advises on employee matters in transactions, including due diligence, executive employment agreements, and post-closing integration. Allison is serving her second term of the Texas Board of Legal Specialization – Labor and Employment Law Advisory Commission. When not practicing law, Allison enjoys gardening, cooking, and spending time with her husband, Nate, and two sons.
Melinda Newman Bio
Melinda Newman has nearly twenty years of experience crafting pragmatic solutions to clients’ legal problems. She advises employers on a wide range of workplace issues, including employee leaves of absence, reasonable and religious accommodation requests, internal investigations, discrimination complaints, and disciplinary and termination practices. Melinda also drafts employment agreements and policies for clients in a variety of different industries.
As a former federal government attorney, Melinda has significant experience representing managers in administrative matters before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Merit Systems Protection Board and arbitration matters before the Federal Labor Relations Authority. Melinda now draws on that experience to help employers reduce risk and guide clients through administrative proceedings and litigation matters. Outside of the office, Melinda enjoys traveling, attending fitness classes, and spending time outdoors with her husband, children, and two dogs.
